GG you filthy, conniving, evil, underhanded, rotten scum!
You are dead right Liq, my death did leave me yelling at my screen at how easy yourself, goltar, and Sint (who was the player I tracked on the night I died, he led me to an abandoned warehouse and shot me, the dirty swine!) led the town by the nose. What you will no doubt find amusing is that I had nole pinned as absolutely straight, so well done for hoodwinking me even when I had 5 of the 6 of you pinned. I actually sent a PM to ray naming the players I suspected after I died. apart from merlin, I named goltar, Liq, sint, NacRuno, and either wasp or bassano as the last. As I said, I named nolecub as 100% trustworthy.
To my fellow townies: well done for utterly ignoring my suspect list. Here is my suggested lynch order right before I died:
- merlin
- sint
- Liq
- goltar
- bassano
I will admit that at the time even I wouldn't have dared believe I had 4 mafia in a row on that list, but it didn't take much reading the following day to confirm how right I was, and to remove bassano from my list of suspects. Pity I was dead...
Three questions for everyone: who did see any of my hidden messages? Did anyone bother to go back and check for themselves after sint revealed them (he sneakily left out that one of my messages was a direct message to him saying: "I'm onto you!")? And does anyone use the alternate skin, which would have made them plain as day?
For those who missed out, here is the complete transcript of my hidden messages:

This is a hidden message.

Jason Maher wears women's underwear. Pass it on.

Started off with a joke message to see who would notice them. Sint replied in kind, so I knew he at least was reading them, which is how I ended up suspecting him, when he didn't respond to the role claim. As it turns out, he did eventually, and I missed it until now. The old "right for the wrong reason" trick. I was intending on waiting to see if I could catch anyone else, but in the end the importance of getting rid of the one mafia I knew for certain to give the town a slim chance won out. I didn't reveal openly for the simple reason of seeing how certain people responded, especially sint.

I am the hidden role, the Tracker.
-
I get to follow one person each night, and find out if they visited anyone.
-
Night 1 I followed muzzz, who visited Naz. Naz wound up dead.
-
Night 2 I followed merlin, who visited muzzz. muzzz wound up dead.
-
The only scenario that makes sense of this is that muzzz was the cop and merlin is mafia.
-
If you can read this, vote for merlin now.
-
I denied the hidden role because silence and admission were equally bad options.
-
If you're townie, don't let on you've read this.
-
If you're maifa, then the game's up, I just hope the doc reads it too!

sint: I'm on to you. I know you read what I wrote. I suspect Liq also read it, which would pin him as your mate.
-
skiffz: thanks!
-
If you're a townie reading this, read my previous large post NOW.

I also put a hidden message in my sig directing townies to read posts 243 and 254.
When sint made a large post without any indication he'd read my role claim, I immediately suspected him. I was also pretty certain Liq would have noticed it, as the beige text wasn't completely invisible (I've since figured out the rgb values for both shades of grey used as a background here), and hence I suspected him when he didn't indicate in any way he'd seen my claim. goltar and NacRuno I suspected by association to the other two. Votes for either ric or skiffz strengthened my suspicions. Oh, and goltar's little "I'm not trying to out the cop" statement seemed a little too convenient. I also thought Nac's tying vote on merlin and especially sints switch from ric to merlin were attempts to make themselves look clean. Turned out to be a very good tactic, as no-one seriously suspected either of them after that.
I decided to follow sint the night I died and hope like hell the doc saved me, even though I was already convinced of his guilt. I was ironically considering following nolecub to clear him, operating under the assumption that any mafia I followed would lead to me to their NK, rather than the mafia having to select a killer each night.
I was so impressed by sint's play after I died that I actually sent a couple of PMs to ray. The way he brought up my hidden messages, leaving out only my calling out of him, was pure genius, and coupled with his hammer vote on merlin, seemingly cleared him in everyone's eyes. I was hoping some townie would go back and read my messages, notice me calling sint out, then grill sint on why he left that out when reporting what I wrote. Alas it seems all the townies took his word for it and didn't check for themselves, even after he named the specific post numbers the messages were in.
Watching the last two days was a mix of frustration, amusement, and amazement at the play of sint, Liq, goltar, and NacRuno (although I was never as convinced on Nac as I was the other 3). Finding out after the game ended that my 100% townie nole was in cahoots heightened the amusement and amazement factors considerably.
Once again, gg to the scum. Thanks ray for hosting, although I would quiz having a situation where only two townie lynches puts the mafia on the cusp of victory. Especially when I'm not scum!
Really with 6/18 scum, we desperately needed a successful doc save, probably two, to even the score against the usual early game townie lynches. (Last round is the only one I can recall where we have got a string of early game mafia lynches.)
A particular thanks to ray for what I consider a very good hidden role. As can be seen I got quite lucky, but still got misled by non-game factors (muzzz's propensity to be scum) into ruling out a valid option (muzzz being the cop). I guess I figured the odds were two low on the cop and mafia hitting the same target night one, so I jumped to the obvious conclusion that muzzz was scum. Thankfully no-one listened to me.
Finally, for one last time, let me emphasise that I meant absolutely nothing by calling muzzz "Dr. Muzzz", other than that he was a university professor in my role-play. It never occurred to me someone might take this as a hint to muzzz's role until someone actually took it as such.
