Just trying to get through life. Nothing special. The holidays are done, now I have to get through winter. So far so good...

Well, bad stuff, mostly. My Mom had breast cancer, but they caught it early, so we hope she's okay, now. But it was stressful for everyone, and the radiation treatments everyday were very tiring. Also, my house has problems new and old that we can't afford to fix, even if we could figure what exactly is wrong. The power supply in my Mac died and the Apple store kept it for a week, and I was worried sick that it was something more serious. And I've had the flu or somthing for the last week or so...
But, it snowed today so it's pretty out, and I'm getting better, I think, and (knock knock) my Mom and my Mac are good, and I got some cool new games (tabletop and computer), and a cool adaptor with a phono pre-amp to let me hook my turntable to my Mac, so things are pretty good!

Sounds like things have been anything but boring for you.
I just found out that the 3 meg internet we were finnally hooking up to the house isn't available in our area so we're going to end up with 1.5 megs insead. I hope that's good enough. Either way it's better than the 56k dialup that we were getting.

It probably will be. I got FIOS (long story) and I chose the lower speed, and it's still pretty fast. Just make sure you have a firewall enabled so you don't get hacked since you will be constantly online, even if you aren't using it, unlike dialup.
