Heh. I actually had you pegged as the next mislynch after FH. But then you claimed. goltar: the game really is over. We actually could've had it two days ago, but I screwed up. I have no idea why Jason isn't calling it. @w_M: I can't shake the feeling that something's bothering you. You've seemed touchy all game long. And your rant about disrespect really surprised me. The W_M I remember would have thought "hmmm, maybe they have some good reasons for this". Which we do, BTW. But I can't go into them without speaking harsh words about Jason. So I won't.

Why is it that every time I play this game it seems I keep missing all sorts of clues left and right? I had Muzzz on my suspicious list, but... Well, not sure about the rest. CG wasn't on ym radar, and since this has happened a couple of times, I'm guessing I'm going to label him as 'impossible' to read.
As far as the mafia claiming a 'win', well, if they think they have it they can claim it of course. But if they fail, it makes for a really shameful fall from grace. However, the figures seem to be in their favor.
What appals me is how some people mention they are willing to play, but then don't participate. Seriously, all you do is mess things up for the town. Even maati should have known better then to step in, if she knew she was going to be too tired to post anything.

I think we can, actually, but I'm not sure. Meh. Like you said, it doesn't matter.
I'm curious about your role, though. I had you pegged as the Doc because you said something like "I have reasons for not voicing all my suspicions". And the only townie reason I could think of was that someone else (read: Goltar) already knew about those suspicions.

A major part of the problem today for both w_m and myself is not the fact that we lost, but the manner in which some of the mafia declared their win. Some from the SPF may remember in one of the early rounds there (1 or 3, skunkbelly was hosting I believe, but within the first 3 rounds), the mafia won and came out declaring as much, lots of gloating, basically a "we won, ha ha" approach. No waiting for the moderator to declare it, no respect or sportsmanship, etc. Yes, they did win. But they spoiled the game by their celebration. The town obviously wasn't happy with it. The moderator wasn't happy because he'd had a good ending story written up and ready to go. And after realizing that they'd ruined it, the mafia wasn't happy either. Bad for everyone all around.
Notice any similarities? I certainly do. And for me (I don't know if w_m remembers this game or not, she didn't seem to when I mentioned it), that makes it worse, since I have seen it before and know what happens.
A second, but related point. I haven't read a bit of the LP games, so I don't know how you typically play over there. But something I've found very prevalent here is respect for others, including the opposition. Once anyone steps beyond that, everyone starts getting on edge. There are some this game who have been far less than respectful. I have tried desperately to not insult or offend anyone. I've probably let a few through unfortunately, and I apologize for any insult or offense to anyone. If I have done something such that this is not enough, feel free to let me know and we'll work something out.

goltar: there's a big difference between this round and the one you mentioned. In that round, the mafia announced their victory before the mod even had a chance to make the night post. But we waited nicely until Jason had time to make a day post that announced our victory.

Muzzz: We can discuss hints and such from the game once it is over.
Goltar: Interesting comments, as I'd have said that the abrasive [not really sure that's the word I'm going for, but meh] playing style was a shock coming from LP. This ending would never happen on LP I don't think. There have been games that numbers-wise has been the same kind of situation, but I've never seen this before.

Yes and no. Yes, Jason had a chance to end it. But he chose not to. He has a reason, and I will assume that it is because we have a chance.

I have no idea what happened in the game being referred to, but um, care to point out where in Jason's day post he announced your victory? Night is over. maatianna is dead. Carry on. He specifically says "carry on", not "game over"...

Then I'm going to attribute it to two previously existing groups being brought together, and perceived friction becoming real friction.
And muzzz, I noticed several negative karmas that didn't make sense. Yours is gone for now though.

The only way for you to have a chance is if Jason included a secret townie role that can somehow influence the voting.

slinky: I didn't say that Jason announced our victory. I said he could have (and IMO should have) announced our victory.

With regards to the fact that jason hasn't called game yet, he probably hadn't noticed the game was over when he did the day post, and he has not yet opened the PM I sent him with my revenge voting and a request that he end the game (sent shortly after daybreak). Given his average response time to rules questions over the course of the game, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't come back until around nightfall.
