Jason, change me to an alternate for the time being. I may be working out of town for day 1 and first half of day 2. I will let you know something more concrete by tomorrow.

FWIW: If I did the timezone math right (which I probably did not :\), either of those 2 times is good with me.

Signups close at around 1:00 AM my time (GMT +10) Saturday morning. This will be early Friday afternoon or late Friday morning for most of you. Sorry to have such an awful day beginning/end time, but 1:00 AM is when I can guarantee I'll always be home. I could possibly push it forward to 8:00-10:00 AM my time, which would be late at night for most of you. If this is preferable (which I imagine it is) I can make the change easily enough. edit: 17 players signed up with 3 maybes at this point. I was hoping for 18-20, so this just might work out. Luckily I've had a couple of people plugging the game for me at Lostpedia, which is nice and very much appreciated. Oh, and lol at the LP people pretending like they've never played a game of Mafia before. I'll figure out whose hiding behind which identity eventually. 8am your time would be 6pm the previous day for me and would be absolutley perfect Lostpedia??? Hmmm....I mayormaynot have heard of that place

A, a kahlan... The mother confessor herself. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if you turned out to be the Don's wife Ok, I'm game. From the looks of it, you might have use for me as a certain, given your rolespread. I'll see how things develop.

I'll trust goltar's math and say I'd perfer the later time for the whole being asleep at and before 7 am.
p.s. where might this lostpedia mafia be found? past games here are easy to locate and it'd be nice to see a few examples of tactics half the players are used to using....

forum.lostpedia.com/games-f45.htmlThe current round is stickied at the top of the page. Another thread is stickkied next to it which is where people post their game setups for future games. Here's a couple of previous rounds I dug up: forum.lostpedia.com/mafia-xix-world-apart-t30952.html (This one defines the term epic. I'm sure the host is hiding here under a pseudonym. ) forum.lostpedia.com/office-mafia-t22532.html forum.lostpedia.com/mafia-xvi-apocalypse-t20982.html (I was the lie detector in this game. I seem to have the same affinity for cop-type roles as muzzzz and Nac Runo have for scum-type roles ) That chunk of reading should keep everyone going for a while. One thing you'll notice is a lack of voting in the thread itself. A new poll listing the living players is attached to the game thread at the start of each day, which makes it impossible for people to change their vote. This is of course where I stole the idea from. By the way, if you think my setup is crazy, it is positively tame next to some of the setups I've seen over there. Especially the first old game I've linked to above.

OK, I've decided to shift to 10:00 AM local time for day start/end. The game will begin tomorrow at 10:00 AM local time - which is 1:00 AM in London, 8:00 PM in New York, and 5:00 PM in Los Angeles. Since we are beginning with a day phase, I will send the role PMs out earlier than this, but please don't begin any game discussion until after the start time (I will post to indicate the game has begun). Here's a useful link: www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/I live in Brisbane, which at this time of the year is on the same time as Sydney and Melbourne. nolecub has been changed to a maybe. merlin is still a maybe unless I hear from him otherwise. Currently we have 18 confirmed players, which will mean 5 or 6 Mafia, depending on which roles I remove. When the game starts I'll list the maybes who haven't decided to become definitelys as reserve players. If someone has to drop out for some unforseen reason, I'll ask the reserves if any of them want to sub in to avoid having to modkill the departing player.

slinky: Very funny. You probably hosted one of them. OK, I've made some role changes, and I'm about to make some more, with the aim of simplfying things a bit. If people would like some extra time to digest the changes, I can move the start by a day or two. I will only do this if the majority of players request it.

The roles are now finalised.
If it stays at 18 players, there will initially be 6 Mafia (3 power roles, 3 Goons), 3 Neutrals (2 Idiots + Stranger), and 9 Townies (6 power roles, 3 BOPTs).

I see I was too cryptic for our revered host down under K then, le't try different wording. The quick 'n dirty: I'm inSomewhat more official: I have decided to enterPsychologically motivated: Given my thorough analysis of the need vs. desire patterns that have present in my brain, it has become clear that the decision of me entering the mafia round is a desirable, and achievable, state.Street slang: Yo, my homey from down under, cut me some slack and deal me in Medieval english: For certs, thou hast drawn me hither like the moth to the flame. 'T is likely I shall perish in the flames, but that foolhardy deed should not be in vain if it doth afford me to play a meaningful part in thine drama, which scope and epic doth indeed reach Shakespearean dimensions.
