This is quite different from what Water_moon posted but it is incredibly easy and tasty and versatile. It takes literally 5 minutes and sometimes I make it for supper after a long day and eat it with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
I have never used bisquick in my life but now it is a kitchen staple.
This says peach but any fruit in a similar amount works - my favourite is 1 pint blueberries and half pint blackberries- fresh or frozen. Also strawberries, apple. Pear is so so.
it says 8X8 pan but I use 9X13 often.
1 cup Original Bisquick 1 cup milk 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 1 cup sugar 1 can (29 ounces) sliced peaches, drained
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 F. Stir together Bisquick, milk and nutmeg in un-greased square baking dish, 8x8x2 inches. Stir in butter until blended. Stir together sugar and peaches; pour into batter and mix around.
Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until golden.
