Yeah it was well played. thanks for the host, I enjoyed reading it quite a bit.. Too bad I had an early exit. IMO people should've punched trough the false claims earlier (funny valentine had holes in it and ray messing up was too bad, ofcourse I knew the locksmith claim was false because I had that but the shrink one was a bit over the top ) Anyway it was well played and kudos to firehorse too, to end the last day quickly. The lockvotes were a bit soon, but worked out well. At first when the claiming spree started I thought everyone had some sort of role just to induce the claiming.. I guess even with the game stacked against the town we just have decent reading skills ps. This game had pretty sick numbers, 4 mafia vs 10 town, but the mafia could kill someone off the bat and have an extra kill along the line with the bomber (so 4 vs 8 actually). That's 1/3rd!! In hindsight that means the game could've been over in 3 days: 4 mafia out of 14 nightkill 4 out of 13 misslynch + nightkill 4 out of 11 lynch the bomb + random townie + nightkill 3 out of 8 misslynch + nightkill 3 out of 6 mafia win. pps Sorry gorny

Nicely done! Congrats to the mafia for the sheer amount of confusion that was thrown about, at least early on. It took me a while to get a sense of what I thought about most people. Although when Ray started claiming to have been having nightly discussions with me, that was a bit of a clue. My goal was mainly to survive for as long as I could to keep the information flow to the town. As such, I was trying to keep discussion going. Asking a constant stream of questions had two benefits. Firstly, it set me up for a role claim as the interrogator if needed. That would have been an absolute last resort as it would probably mean the town would only see one more role revealed. Secondly, a lot of my posts actually had no content but simply asked a bunch of people questions. While it does stimulate the discussion it seemed to keep the heat off me a bit as well, particularly as I appeared to be contributing but without actually having to write any opinions. Soy: To answer some questions discussed in the game after I died - was your target determined by some mechanism such as the first person to vote for you, or was it pure revenge that you targetted me? Either way it worked out well for the mafia. Personally, that night you caused the no-lynch I was absolutely fuming. I'd been watching the boards in case anything happened, and I was about a second away from following your vote onto Ray before the thread was locked. So I went and bought some amazing beer instead. Thanks for hosting, nolecub! Was an enjoyable and well run game! I think I might have a break from these games for the moment now. I've found both in this and the community forum games on diii.net that I'm having spikes in my workload that mean I can't contribute enough time to these games as I'd like to.

I knew we were both dead out of the game but we needed more information. We tortured you and found out your role. In no way was my target on you revenge - it was totally to stop the role reveals to the town. The method of target was whoever I had my last vote on when I went to jail. You can see back in my vote switching if at any time my vote was on Ray and I went I would be taking out 2 of the 3 remaining mafia members in one shot. For everyone who called that shenanigans or just a stall there was way more to it than that. We needed Ray another night and that night paid off with the stoppage of the role reveals to the town.

Oh. I was under the impression that the torturer was the mafia counterpart to my role for some reason, not an actual mafia cop. Hence I thought you'd only learned my role after I died.

For this game, the only way the mafia would know of any roles is if Ray was there to torture them. They could NK and torture the same suspect, or split it up. A few of their NK's, they had no clue what the role was, including yours IIRC.
One big reason for the mafia's downfall, and it has happened to me as mafia, is the targeting of non-power role townies. Especially in a game where the roles are not known, this really hindered the mafia in role claims.
