Balance notes:
I think that in the future, hosts should try to stick to a minimum of 50% vanilla townies, just to stave off the roleclaim problem. I also think that also, given how well the town seems to do, we need more semi-unhelpful roles like the druggie and Reagan. Don't be afraid to make life difficult for the town, because collectively we seem to have got very good at spotting bad guys.

Yes the townies are on a hot winning streak. Bring back the night one NK's. But only the mafia can act on night one, as the town would not be aware of any misgivings going on.
And yes, I am ready to host whenever.

Stick me at the end of the hosting line.
I've got an interesting idea I'd like to get some feedback on. What if the moderator is also a player? Here's how I see that working. Everyone (except the moderator) gets some money. It could be a set amount, a "daily wage", or combination of those and/or some other income means. Then, nightly, everyone secretly donates to/bribes the moderator. The moderator will choose the side of whoever gave the most money that night for the next day. Obviously, there would be restrictions on things like the moderator not giving away roles and such, but for instance, the moderator could be given a name from the mafia of who to try to lynch the next day (if they win the support), pick a random bad guy to go after if the town wins, etc.
Any opinions on this?

I like the concept of bribes, but I'm not sure if a moderator role would work out. There's a big chance that one of the sides will decide it's best to just kill the moderator immediately.
EDIT: Also, I'd welcome a round without masons. All they seem to do is promote statistical elimination (aka roleclaim win).

I was also thinking of making the moderator unkillable. No real win situation, just an extra, purchasable vote basically.

Baised on your level of amusment, I'd say the host always wins....
The hidden roles were very powerful in terms of throwing the town off balance, I'm not sure we weren't just massively lucky. I am of the thinking we need a larger pool of players both for the unknowns and the stats being less inclined to the roll reveal claims.

I've just had an interesting idea for a mafia game, one that's both weird and different. 3 teams, each one consisting of 1 leader, 1 investigator and regular teammates. Each team can talk between themselves at night. Victory: the last team to have his leader. Lynching: 1 per day, role revealed is simply Team 1, Team 2, Team 3 or Leader (no team disclosed). Investigator: every night he can investigate someone, resulting in "Leader" or "Not a Leader" Leader: Leaders do not enter the discussion at night. They are hidden, eccentric, paranoic, or all of the above. Leaders can send a message to the town every night. The 3 messages are posted by moderator at the begining of the following day. Now, supposing we have 20 players, it means 3 teams of 6 and 2 remaining people. Where do they fit? I thought something like this, they win if all teams die before 2 leaders. They can also investigate at night, and they have an extra secret vote that is revealed at the end of the day. Something like: Goltar had 11 votes Nole had 10 votes Noodle had 9 votes The secret votes were both for Nole, he is lynched. I keep having these ideas for games, I'll post them often

Just because you couldn't lynch me in game means I get lynched in your scenario. Ouch.
