HotN Mafia Round 6

Now taking sign-ups for Home on the 'Net Mafia, round 6 (I believe). This will be a very standard Mafia game, with only a couple of power roles (cop + doc). If numbers permit, I may slip in a secret rogue role, but for the time being it's bog-standard. I'll update this post with confirmed sign-ups, rules, and role descriptions (which for once, won't take long to read).

The start date will be next Tuesday, 1st December, 9:00 AM AEST (GMT +10).

Rules
The usual - no editing, no night-talking, no cheating, no getting personal.

A lynch shall be decided by who receives the most votes. A tie will be broken by random.org.

I reserve the right to modkill non-participants (I will always give warnings first, though).

Roles

The number of people playing will determine which roles are present. The Doctor will be the first included, then the Cop, then the Secret Rogue role.

Townie
You have no special powers. Your goal is to eliminate all the mafia players through lynching.

Mafia
The Mafia team get to kill one player each night. Any member of the team may send me the PM each night. the Mafia members may communicate behind the scenes during the night phase only, in any manner they see fit.

Doctor
The Doctor may protect one player each night (including themselves), but not the same player twice in a row. The person so protected cannot be killed by the Mafia that night.

Cop
The Cop may PM me the name of one player each night. They will be told the role of that player.

Secret Rogue Role
If included, the secret rogue role will be separate to both the Mafia and the Town, and must be the last surviving player to win.

Ok, assuming we don't get any more signups, I'll be starting the game tomorrow at 9AM my time (11 PM Monday GMT, 6PM Eastern, 3PM Pacific). There will be one of two setups: 1 Mafia, 5 Plain Townies, or 2 Mafia, Cop, Doc, 2 Plain Townies. I will not reveal which one publicly (though the Mafia, Cop, and Doc will of course be aware if I choose the second). The game will begin with a night phase of 24 hours, followed by a day phase of 48 hours, and so on and so forth.

Voting will be as per usual: bolded on a separate line, the same with unvotes and re-votes, as folows:

vote: Jason

unvote: Jason

vote: Jason's other personality

Capitalisation and full names are not required, so long as it is sufficiently clear who is being voted/unvoted.

Goltar awoke with a start. Was that a knock at the door? What time was it anyway? He checked the clock next to the bed: 2:03 AM. Who in the blue hell would be knocking on his door at 2 AM? Perhaps he had just dreamt it. Or maybe it was a racoon.

Goltar's head just hit the pillow before he heard the noise again. There was no doubt about it, somebody was knocking on his door at 2 AM. Grumbling to himself, he crawled lethargically out of bed. He wandered slowly over to the wardrobe to retrieve his dressing gown. Whoever it was knocked again. "Alright, alright, I'm coming!" a disgruntled goltar yelled.

Making his way slowly to front door, while whoever it was continued knocking, goltar prepared an angry little speech in his mind for whoever it was that thought 2 AM was an acceptable time to wake someone up by knocking on their front door. As he reached the door, he bent down slightly to look through the peep hole. As he did so, the gun positioned on the other side of the peep hole fired.

"Sorry to wake you," the dark figure on the other side of the door chuckled. "You can have a nice long sleep in now."

Night is over. Goltar is dead. Day will last for 48 hours.

All right, the only one who may wake up my hubby at 2 am is me, or the baby, or the toddler, or the in-laws calling on black friday b/c they thought my phone was off but I'd turned it back on b/c I'd already talked to my mom about what sizes the children are wearing. Anyway, the point is, family, anybody else can take a flying leap.

So stand up so I can bring the wrongful death suit now because it is NOT o.k. Which reminds me, I need to look up that door maker, who makes a peephole that can be shot through this day and age?

Oh, and how come you didn't wake up? Hmm... very suspish indeed. If I watch my CSI shows correctly, I should send my forensic team in, do some deep thinking, and then look at the life insurance policy on Goltar.

Interesting. Now, death by 2AM poopy diaper would not have raised too many eyebrows, but shot through a peep hole?

Are we all in agreement that it is one mafia vs all plain townies? If not, this may be another short game.

Hmm... another cluless day one. I'm new here - but assume W_M and Goltar are together.

Could the NK be an attempt to point suspision on W_m?

Interesting that you ask that second question. The game alternatives were plain townies vs 1 scum, or Doc, Cop, Townies vs 2 scum - trying to get a feel who may have a power role if any? as theses would be only ones who would know.

In answer to your question - I don't know, it could be either we'll just have to wait and see! ???

PS - I'm glad to see the practise of taking out the newbie night one is not followed here- Diii com. seem to do that in every game! ;D
